Baiyun Industrial & Commercial Senior Technical School was established in 1996. It is a full-time national key technical school, a national grade comprehensive vocational training base and the largest vocational training organization in the Pearl River Delta.
The school has focused on application-oriented secondary vocational education and training programs to meet the needs of the development of China. The school, currently with 6500 full-time students, offers 26 intermediate (post-junior high school) technical programs and 22 senior (post-senior high school and equivalent) technical programs. BSTS has excellent facilities and equipments, including comfortable student dormitories that are broad-band accessible, restaurants, multi-media auditoriums, tennis courts, ultra-modern gym, football courts, Olympic size swimming pool, fitness center etc. The school has also large practice workshops such as CNC programming lab, automotive diagnostic training field, computer center, e-teaching center, language labs and machinery practical skills training field, in total 160 practice workshops which are built for meeting the needs of each specialty.
BSTS has established partnerships with more than 1,000 business enterprises in the Pearl River Delta. Students participate with these firms for practical working experience and the majority of them are employed after receiving their qualification and certificate. The school has also established exchange and cooperative ties with many universities and colleges, corporate universities, research institutes and vocational training organizations in the USA, Germany, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
